Personal Automobile
Automobile insurance is required by law in Canada. While the requirements and coverage vary by province, most automobile policies provide coverage for:
- Repairs to your vehicle
- Claims costs if you're in an accident that has injured or killed another person or damaged their property
- Payment of legal fees if you are sued for a questionable accident, even if it's decided the accident wasn't your fault
- Accidents involving uninsured or unidentified drivers, such as hit-and-runs
- Medical and rehabilitation expenses
- Lost wages if you're injured and unable to work
Personal automobile insurance also covers recreational vehicles such as ATVs, snowmobiles and motorcycles.
